All the details about your upcoming adventure in one place
Immerse yourself in the world's most famous illicit car gathering spot: the Daikoku Parking Area. Located on a man-made island in Yokohama Bay, this highway rest stop transforms into a pulsating hub of automotive passion every weekend. It is the spiritual home of JDM culture, where legendary tuners, drift teams, and supercar owners converge under the spiral ramps of the Shuto Expressway. Unlike a museum, this is a living, breathing scene where the smell of high-octane fuel and the sound of RB26 and 2JZ engines fill the air. Our private tours offer the only reliable way for travelers to experience this inaccessible location, providing transport in legendary vehicles like the Nissan GT-R, Toyota Supra, or Honda NSX, along with expert guides who navigate the complex highway network and police protocols.

Real experiences from real travelers
I've watched videos of Daikoku since I was a kid. Being there in an R34 GT-R was surreal. The guide, Ken, was a legend and knew exactly where to park for the best photos. Worth every penny.
Even though I'm not a huge car nerd, the atmosphere was electric. We went on a Friday night and saw everything from Ferraris to bouncing lowriders. The drive over the Rainbow Bridge was a highlight.
The cars were amazing, but Daikoku is right by the water and gets very windy. Bring a jacket! The driver was very safe and the car was immaculate.
Getting to Daikoku without a car is impossible. This tour made it easy. Picked up from Shinjuku, drove straight there, spent 2 hours, and back. Perfect.
Booked the R35 tour. The car was a Liberty Walk build—absolute monster. The driver spoke good English and explained the history of the Wangan line. Highly recommended.
The police closed Daikoku early (around 9 PM), which was a bummer. But our guide immediately took us to Umihotaru PA which was also cool. Appreciated the backup plan.
I live in Osaka but wanted to see the Tokyo scene. Booking a private driver was much easier than renting a car and navigating the Shuto myself. Authentic experience.
If you love JDM, you have to do this. We saw 7s Day rotaries and so many Skylines. The convenience of being dropped back at our hotel at 1 AM was a lifesaver.
Everything you need to know for your journey
No, these are strictly passenger experiences. Driving in Tokyo, especially on the Shuto Expressway, requires specific insurance and local licensing. You will be ridden in by a professional driver.
Police closures (The Closure) are common on Friday and Saturday nights if the area gets too crowded. If this happens, our experienced guides will divert to alternative spots like Umihotaru PA or scenic city routes to ensure you still have a great automotive experience.
Friday and Saturday nights (7 PM - 10 PM) are best for the biggest variety and volume of cars. Sunday mornings are famous for supercars and classic vehicles.
No. Daikoku PA is a highway rest stop with no pedestrian access from the outside. Taxis can drop you off but cannot pick you up easily, leaving you stranded. A booked tour is the only safe round-trip option.
Yes, for older children. However, these are loud, late-night environments. Please check individual tour listings for minimum age requirements.
The tours run rain or shine, but fewer enthusiast cars show up in heavy rain. The atmospheric drive and city views are still spectacular, but the meet itself may be quieter.
Typically 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on police activity and your preference. The total tour duration includes travel time from Tokyo.
Some operators can provide child seats upon request, but you must confirm this before booking. Space in sports cars (like the RX-7) is extremely limited.
Yes, the tours listed on our platform specifically feature English-speaking guides or drivers to ensure you get the most out of the cultural context.
